Vision Statement

The IE program will be a growing, top-ranked, cooperative program, with an industrially experienced faculty and a strong partnership with industry, which demonstrates leadership in critical industrial engineering topics. Kettering IE graduates will reflect this heritage throughout their careers.

Mission Statement

The IE program’s mission is to produce quality industrial engineers, highly sought after by industry.

A quality industrial engineer possesses ability to:

Form, facilitate, lead, coordinate, and participate in teams, as well as understand organizational processes and behavior

Function effectively and ethically within an organization and society as an Industrial Engineering professional

Collect, analyze, and interpret data relevant to problems arising in the Industrial Engineering profession

Approach unstructured problems, to synthesize and design potential solutions and to evaluate the effect of those solutions on the organization or society

Identify and use the appropriate mathematical, computer, and anthropometric models to improve integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment, and energy.
