IEN-564 Work Design IV

2001 Catalog Data: IEN-564 Work Design IV: Ethics & Practice of Engineering

Required Text: To be determined

Prerequisite: Senior standing in Industrial Engineering or Admission to graduate program.

Course Description: The course deals with the professional and ethical considerations of an engineer in contemporary society. Discussions include, the codes of ethics for engineers, case studies on conflict of interest, team, engineering/ management responsibilities, environmental considerations and professional registration. The format is video lectures with a live weekly discussion.

Course Objectives:

  • Ability to recognize an ethical dilemma

  • Ability to formulate and defend a position.

Project level: The experience will be provided at the level of enrollment.
