Biography,Background and Interests:

Professor Gheresus, known to Kettering community as Pete, joined Kettering University in 1980 after receiving his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University. He recieved his masters and bachelors from Iowa state universiry in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Operations respectively. He completed his studies till 8th grade from Godaif Elementary and Middle School, Asmara, Eritrea, East Africa. Dr. Gheresus's interest and expertise are in the areas of applied control systems, Industrial safety & engineering and developing human-machine interfaces. He is a firm supporter of Industry-Academia education. He established Rockwell Automation Applied Control Systems Laboratory at Kettering University.This Lab has state of the art PLC control systems, which are being used in modern industry. He also worked as director of Kettering Univerisity's Industrial Engineering program for 6 years.
