Announcing the Teacher-Scholar Initiative!!!

The Teacher-Scholar Model proposed by one of the Shared Governance Intitatives has been approved. We are all looking at how to apply this in our professional activities. The University has adopted a definition of Scholarship based on the Boyer Model two of these areas are Integration Research Based Pedagogical Innovation

During 12th Week Winter Term a Pacific Crest Institute will be held at Kettering focusing on Developing the Teacher Scholar. The second Pacific Crest Institute to be held during 12th week Winter Term will focus on this. Participants will learn how to apply this model in their research and teaching. Efforts will focus on integrating research and teaching, publishing educational innovation and research, and securing funding for these activities.

The Institute is the middle of several activites which CETL would like to enable to ensure that Kettering makes tremendous strided in developing teacher scholars.

• Prior to the event - we would like to engage the participants in dialog so that we can ensure the Institute best meets Kettering's needs
• After the event - we want to develolp a mutually supportive environment to encourage these activities.
