App Development for Mobile Devices

Computer Engineering Special Topics (CE-491)

New opportunities are coming as a new generation of mobile devices is emerging. Apple iPhone/iPod touch and Google Android are two leading platforms among many. Mobile development is fundamentally different from conventional embedded and desktop development. We will discuss the development of mobile applications on new generation mobile devices such as Apple's iPhone and Google's Android Nexus One.

This course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge to design and implement mobile applications through lectures and several short term projects. Each student will select either Apple iPhone/iPod touch or Google Android for his/her final project.
