(July 3-5 2006)

New Kettering University Students! DON’T MISS THIS FUN LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY!

You are invited to join Kettering University’s best and brightest upper-class student leaders at Camp COMPASS and jump start your first year experience!

Camp COMPASS is a leadership development opportunity offered to new students before beginning their first term at Kettering University. Attendance is limited to the first 40 applicants, who will be joined by some of Kettering’s best student leaders. We will leave Kettering on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 6 pm .

Camp COMPASS is held at Covenant Hills in Otisville, Michigan. It has adventure facilities including outdoor ropes courses, climbing walls and towers as well as cooperative and initiative activities facilitated by trained professionals. Other amenities include cabins & dormitories, a full-service dining hall and conference facilities.

Participants will be allowed to move into the residence hall before leaving for camp from 2– 5 pm on Monday, July 3, avoiding the rush on Thursday when all of the other students arrive.

“Camp COMPASS is the best program I have been involved with at Kettering—before school even started I had already met the students who are now my closest friends and mentors. My experience at Camp not only provided me with a valuable social network, it also encouraged me to become a leader on campus, both inside and outside of the classroom.” Scott Porter, Student Senate Administrator, 2003, Co-Director, COMPASS , 2004

“Camp COMPASS is a great opportunity to meet other freshmen and campus leaders. The team building exercises and activities at Camp COMPASS will benefit you greatly throughout your entire Kettering experience.” Jon Kowalski, Student Senate Freshmen Representative, 2003, Student Senate V.P., 2004, Co-Director, COMPASS, 2004

“When we arrived back at Kettering after camp, we had a head start in college life. Camp gave us the opportunity to form friendships and enhance our leadership skills. We were welcoming the other freshmen and helping them move in.”, Molly Hill

Don’t Delay! Space is limited to the first 40 applicants. Applications will be mailed the first week in May. Student cost is $125.
