Zadeh Office: 2-703P Office Hours: M 9:00 – 10:30am and W 1:00-2:30, or by appointment Email: mzadeh@kettering.edu Phone: 810-762-9500 x5914 Text Book: Computer Networking: A Top-Down Approach, 5/E, by: Kurose & Ross Overview: This course will cover a range of network topics including organization, analysis, and design of interconnected systems, the Open Systems Interconnection model, the Internet model, network topology, media types, protocol, Ethernet, ATM, routing, TCP/IP, and common network applications. Grading: The overall grade for the course is calculated as follows: Midterm Exam 15% Final Exam 25% Project 30% Laboratory 30% 100% Exams: There will be a midterm and a final exam. The midterm exam is scheduled for November 6. Homework: There will be several homework assignments throughout the term. The homework problems do not need to be turned in. Homework is fully the responsibility of the student. Homework sheets will become available on Blackboard as the material is covered in class. Each homework assignment is released as two files: one that just contains problems and the other with both problems and answers. Project: The detail of the project will be provided later. Laboratory: The lab for the course is a combination of 5 labs. Academic Integrity: The Kettering University Code of Academic Integrity will be strictly enforced. |
